Noor privacy policy
This policy covers the Android application Noor, published by LLJ Studios ("we", "us").
The short version: nothing leaves your home. Your baby's video and sound travel directly between your two phones over your own Wi-Fi, encrypted. We operate no servers, so there is nowhere for that video to be sent even in principle. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting.
1. What we collect
Nothing. We run no servers, hold no database and have no account system. We do not know that you installed Noor, how you use it, or what its camera sees.
2. Video and audio
Noor streams directly from the camera phone to the viewer phone across your local network, using WebRTC. The media is encrypted in transit with DTLS-SRTP — mandatory in WebRTC, not an option we expose or you could disable.
That stream never reaches us, because there is no "us" in the path: no server, no relay, no cloud. If your home internet connection is down, Noor still works, which is the clearest demonstration of where the video does and does not go.
3. Cry detection happens on your phone
The camera phone analyses sound locally, on the device, using a neural network (YAMNet) bundled inside the app. Recordings are never uploaded — no audio is transmitted to us or to any third party. Motion analysis works the same way: the frames are examined on the phone that captured them and then discarded.
4. What is stored, and where
- Snapshots and the event timeline (the record of when crying, motion or an alert happened) are written to app-private storage on your own phones. Other apps cannot read them, and they never leave the device.
- Pairing keys are held in Android's encrypted storage, backed by the device Keystore.
- Your settings stay on the device.
Deleting this data needs no request to us: uninstalling Noor removes all of it, and you can unpair a camera at any time from the app, which revokes its key.
5. Permissions, and why each one exists
We would rather explain these here than have you meet them cold on the Play listing.
- Camera and microphone — on the camera phone only. This is the product.
INTERNETand local-network access — held to reach the other phone on your Wi-Fi, not to reach a server of ours. Android requires this permission for any network socket, including one that never leaves your house. We would rather name it plainly than let the permission list imply something worse.- Notifications — so alerts can reach you.
- Foreground service (camera, microphone, media playback) — so monitoring keeps running when the screen is off or the app is swiped away. Android shows a permanent notification while it does; that notification is not optional and is a good thing.
- Battery optimisation exemption — optional, and asked for only because Android will otherwise stop a monitor that has been running for hours.
6. Remote viewing does not exist in this version
Noor works only when both phones are on the same local network. There is deliberately no way to watch the nursery from outside the house in this version.
If we ever build it, it changes this policy — and it will change this page first, with a new version number below, before any such version is released. We will not add a feature that sends your video somewhere and describe it afterwards.
7. Purchases
There are none. This version contains no in-app purchase, no payment library and no price. We are not a trader on Google Play and take no money from you, so there is no transaction, no payment processor and no purchase data.
A future version will offer a single one-time purchase — never a subscription. When it does, this section will be rewritten before that version ships and the version number below will change.
8. Data we share
We share nothing, because we hold nothing. We do not sell data, and there is no data to sell. Noor contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK.
9. Children
Noor is a tool for parents and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children. It is not designed for a child to use, and it is not a medical device — see our terms.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection over personal data a controller holds about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct or delete.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — either the one in your own country of residence, or the CNIL in France, where the publisher is established.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date and version number below. Any change that introduced data collection — remote viewing above being the obvious candidate — would be published here first and announced in the app before it took effect, never slipped in quietly.
